What is the Five Elements Theory?
Also known as the "philosophy of the nourishing cycle", the Five Elements Diet is one of the pillars of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is based on the alternating interplay of the five elements wood, fire, earth, metal and water, which sustain and engender one another in an endless cycle. The elements sustain and engender one another in an endless cycle. Wood feeds fire, which burns down to ash. Ash nourishes the earth, which yields metal; metal enriches water.
Which ingredients are assigned to which element?
The element earth is represented by the sweet figs, crunchy sunflower seeds and almonds, as well as the aromatic carob powder. The slight sourness of the sour cherries and the lemon represents the element wood. Oat bran and cinnamon are assigned to the element metal, while fire is present in the form of dark chocolate and cocoa. The fifth element, water, is added by a pinch of salt.
What's the best way of preparing the Oat Porridge?
Simply place 50g (6 tbsp) of the basic porridge mix in a bowl, pour over approx. 95ml of boiling water or hot oat drink (depending on the desired creaminess), stir well and leave to soak for 3 minutes. Add fresh seasonal fruit or any other toppings you like – and enjoy!
Are there any other TCM varieties?
We currently offer a total of three Five Elements Porridges. Besides our warming Oat Porridge there's also harmonising Coconut-Orange Rice Porridge and gently cooling Apricot-Strawberry Spelt Porridge to try.

Sehr schokoladig und lecker
Ich liebe den Haferporridge! Er schmeckt schokoladig und die Mischung mit den Kirschen ist himmlisch. Die Konsistenz des Porridge ist auch genau wie ich sie mag :)
