Porridge preparation - simple and healthy
Porridge, also called oatmeal, is a grain mixture that is basically prepared from two basic ingredients. Here, oat flakes or oatmeal are mixed with milk and/or water.

The oats in our porridge recipes provide you with everything your body needs for the day: energy, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, minerals such as magnesium, calcium, iron and much more. This is how easy and healthy porridge preparation can be at home.

Porridge ingredients - how to make a nutritious organic oatmeal
A porridge is only as good as the ingredients it contains. Many delicious, healthy and nutritious organic porridge mixes have been created according to this principle. The basis of each individual porridge is carefully selected wholemeal oat flakes or oat bran. For the gluten-free varieties we naturally use oat flakes without gluten.
This ensures a lot of healthy energy. The long-chain carbohydrates keep you full for a long time and can therefore help you lose weight. This is how you can prevent ravenous appetite attacks efficiently ! In addition, certain fibres such as beta glucans (footnote: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23494974/) keep blood sugar levels stable and reduce the risk of heart disease. Pretty convincing what a porridge can do, isn't it?
Milk, water or plant drink - what fits better for my porridge?
The classic porridge was prepared with water or cow's milk. However, we believe that plant-based alternatives such as oat, coconut, rice or soy drinks taste at least as good and add a bit more variety to your porridge!
What's more, if you switch to vegan milk alternatives, you will also save calories. Of course, water is the least calorific for your hot breakfast.
Toppings to refine your porridge
Fruit, fresh berries, nuts, spices like cinnamon, linseed or chia seeds not only refine your porridge, but can make it twice as healthy and nutritious. For example, nuts provide you with essential mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Either roasted or as nutbutter- your porridge will be the ideal motivational aid in the morning!

Porridge contains many important vitamins and minerals
Important vitamins, fibre and minerals - the tried and tested porridge contains all of these! For even more nutrients and on top of that a great taste experience, we supplement our porridge mixes with delicious organic ingredients: Crunchy almonds, juicy fruit pieces, healthy seeds and more.
But what is not contained? We deliberately say no to chemical-synthetic pesticides, colourings or flavourings, preservatives and genetic engineering in our porridges. Because we don't just want to offer you the perfect, healthy breakfast, but also only the best for the environment!
By the way: Many of our porridge varieties are vegan, gluten-free and without added sugar!

Special preparation tip: Porridge preparation with the spurtle
In Scotland, the place of origin of porridge, a special kitchen utensil called a "spurtle" has been used for the ideal preparation of porridge since the 15th century. A spurtle is a wooden stirring stick to which the rather sticky porridge does not stick.
With the spurtle you can stir your porridge during the preparation so that you prevent clumps in your porridge. Because the most important thing when preparing porridge without lumps is: stir, stir, stir. It's best to stir constantly with the spurtle when preparing your porridge so that your porridge is nice and creamy. For more information on the Porridge Stirring Spurtle, watch this video.
