Full chocolate pleasure, but little sugar – it’s possible. A fudge is usually a sticky and very sweet affair. In this recipe, we don’t sacrifice flavour, but we do sacrifice sugar for the most part.

The basis for this recipe is the Verival Sport Protein Porridge Cocoa-Banana with healthy cocoa. This means that this treat does not contain any industrial sugar. Of course, this fudge also goes through as a healthy breakfast during the Christmas days 😉

Why is this fudge healthy?

Ingredients for the healthy chocolate fudge with muesli crumble

You only need a few ingredients to prepare the vegan chocolate fudge. But they have a lot to offer in terms of vitamins and fibre. In addition to our porridge, coconut oil and agave syrup, apricots, cocoa, hazelnuts and pumpkin seeds play an important role:

Vitamin bomb apricot

Apricots are real vitamin bombs. The orange fruit is especially known for its high beta-carotene content, the precursor of vitamin A. This substance has antioxidant properties. This substance has antioxidant properties, protects you and prevents damage to your cells.

Cocoa makes you happy

Cocoa has many important ingredients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fibre and unsaturated fatty acids. In addition, the consumption of chocolate leads to the release of the neurotransmitters serotonin and endorphin and thus increases well-being and mood. That’s good to have in times like these.

Nerve food hazelnuts

Hazelnuts are full of vitamin E, which mainly has an antioxidant effect in the body, but also has an anti-inflammatory and immune-system supporting effect. The minerals calcium and phosphorus they contain strengthen our bones and ensure healthy teeth. The increased iron content is also clearly a great feature of the nut.

Protein heroes pumpkin seeds

Pumpkin seeds also score highly when it comes to iron. They are also rich in other nutrients such as zinc, magnesium and selenium. They therefore have a positive effect on our heart health and blood sugar levels. That’s why they are also a popular topping for muesli and porridge.

What do I need to bear in mind when preparing the fudge?

It is important that you allow some time before you can enjoy the fudge. The confection must be put in the fridge for at least 2 hours before eating. Then the ingredients can combine well and the fudge will have the right consistency. It is important that you always store the fudge in a cool place, otherwise it will become too soft. It will keep for about two weeks in a tightly closing tin with baking paper between the layers.
