You can enjoy your picnic almost anywhere you feel like it! If you’re city-bound just choose among the many parks and other green areas whereas if you’re from the countryside go for empty meadows, clearings or even lakesides. Beware, though, as some green areas are forbidden territory. If you want to bring a little furry friend like Anna Laura, you should make sure that dogs are allowed where you intend to go. Speaking of dogs: it’s raining cats and dogs? Well, just relocate and have fun spreading your goodies in your own bed or on your living room floor.

This way: Make sure everyone can easily make their way to the picnic blanket by sending out a picture or a google maps screenshot of the place you want to meet at.
Variety is the spice of life: Your supplies should be able to last in the sun for a few hours and pretty easy to eat. Think fresh fruit and veggies, muesli, bread, sweet and savoury spreads and dips, tiny cakes or muffins. If your vegan buddies, like Melina and Anna Laura, tag along, use plant milk or yoghurt for preparing muesli snacks like bircher muesli or overnight oats. Refresh yourself: Don’t forget to pack some summery refreshments such as home-made iced tea, syrup, smoothies or light alcoholic beverages such as Hugo, White Wine Spritzer or Prosecco. Also, bring multi-coloured straws and glass jars for an extra. Get coffee and tea on the way – just use thermos flasks!

Travel light: If you choose carefully what to bring, you end up carrying less in the end. Bowls and cutlery made from bamboo (Zuperzozial) don’t weigh very much and you can even get very light bread and fruit baskets.
The perfect blanket: A pretty picnic blanket is good but one made from waterproof material is even better. Add at least one sitting cushion for each guest so that everyone can be truly comfy. Avoid a mess by using a large wooden board or a serving tray to assemble your food upon. Extra tip: empty your picnic basket completely and use as a table. There!
