Cream the soft butter with the sugar and egg.
Mix the dry ingredients separately in a bowl and gradually add to the butter mixture.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Place baking paper on the baking tray.
Using a spoon, remove some of the dough mixture and shape into small balls by hand.
Spread the balls (about 10-14 per tray) widely apart on the prepared tray.
Bake the oat biscuits on the middle shelf for about 12 - 15 minutes.
Remove the warm oat biscuits from the tray and leave to cool.
When they have cooled completely, they can be stored in a freshness box as required.
