RAMASURI

Ramasuri at 19 Praterstraße is second to none when it comes to taking breakfast classics and giving them an original twist. Among its creations is “Avocadolala à la Ramasuri”, a new take on avocado spread which is actually a vanilla and avocado tartar with salmon sashimi and poached egg. All ingredients are carefully selected, wherever possible from sustainable sources. Meat is exclusively from regional producers and vegetables are freshly delivered daily by local growers. We especially recommend the veggie breakfast special “Vegenarrisch” and the delicious granola yoghurt.

VOLLPENSION

Vollpension is an eatery based on an unusual idea: if grandma’s food is the best, then you have to employ grandmothers to do the cooking! They see themselves as a multi-generational café that aims to bring old and young together. The café’s adopted grandmas and grandpas bake daily to their own family recipes, generating welcome extra earnings to supplement their pensions. The concept certainly seems to have paid off, because the freshly made cakes and gateaux are impossible to resist! For those who prefer something savoury to start the day there’s a selection of different breakfast options: we love “Xunde Tann'”, featuring cottage cheese, carrot spread, roasted herby vegetables and lots of other goodies.

CAFE DER PROVINZ

At the Café der Provinz it’s no problem asking where the ingredients for your breakfast came from: the charming café is extremely proud of its suppliers! Only the very best quality products make it into their kitchen, and that’s evident in every bite.  With its longstanding reputation for sustainability, the Café der Provinz is popular with students and suits alike. Don’t miss the home-made galettes, waffles and crêpes, which are made with soya milk, buckwheat and spelt rather than conventional wheat and cow’s milk.
