Here are our four top reasons for having a warm breakfast, inspired by Ulli.
Whether you go for eggs, porridge or even quinoa pancakes – all of those breakfast items nourish us with lots of protein, carbohydrates, minerals and fibre, thereby keeping us full and happy for a long period of time. Concentration: check!
It doesn’t take long to put a warm breakfast dish on the table. Just go for overnight oats and voilà, you’ll have breakfast waiting for you when you wake up – ready to be heated!
By making sure you get your daily dose of tryptophan – also called the “happiness amino acid” – you are setting yourself up with enough happy vibes for a long day. Tryptophan, which causes a slow but steady release of endorphins and dopamine, is found in abundance in breakfast yummies such as banana, cashews, millet, oats and raw cacao. If that doesn’t sound like the most delicious porridge…
For the most part, our immune system can be attributed to one very shushed-about organ – our gut! Therefore, the good news is that you can easily strengthen it by enjoying a warm breakfast dish, best including spices with healing properties, such as cinnamon, ginger or even the ever-present allrounder coconut oil.
